Job Stories From Ashe County, NC
Protecting New Crawl Space from Future Damage in West Jefferson, NC

Some crawl spaces look great, but even these need to be protected against what could happen. The homeowners of this home had a clean and new walk-in crawl space and knew it was a good idea to hedge against the eventual decay all constriction has. So, to keep this part of the home efficient and to keep it dry and healthy they had us install some of our products.

The CleanSpace vapor barrier, the EZflo running into a sump pump, and the SaniDry dehumidifying air system all work very well together to keep crawl spaces dry. Water from the ground, precipitation, and humidity are all factors that a healthy crawl constantly fights against. To combat these constants, we isolate the air inside, keep a vapor barrier along the walls and ground, dehumidify the air, and have an interior waterproofing system for any water seepage under the vapor barrier. This system works great for homes with nasty and pristine crawl spaces.

After we installed our system the homeowners were very happy. It made the crawl space look even better than it already did, and it allowed them to have clean and easy storage under their home. It also brings the house above the standard building code for crawl spaces, and it will keep the home more energy efficient as well.

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier Installation in Todd, NC Crawl Space

When this house was built, to bring it up to code, clear plastic was put down in the crawl space. This level of protection is very minimal and only works in the short term. Eventually, this plastic would be ripped to shreds, and moisture would be able to ruin the insulation inside. The crawl space would also then suffer from mold growth and rotting. This is an increased concern because of the wood supports.

The homeowners were concerned with these potential problems and had us take a look at it. The very least that we felt comfortable installing was our CleanSpace vapor barrier that would cover the entire block wall as well as the ground. This solution on its own is not maximum protection from all the factors that can harm a crawl space, but it is very efficient in keeping water vapor out of the air and lowering the humidity.

We installed all the work and sealed the vapor barrier throughout the crawl space, and the homeowners were happy with it. When we left, the home had a long-term solution for keeping water vapor in the ground and out of the crawl space’s air. Chances are you have a similar plastic covering in your crawl space. If you are concerned with the potential issues that that covering can cause, please call us and we will inspect it for free.

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and SilverGlo Wall Insulation Installation in a Grassy Creek, NC Crawl Space

Moisture and water vapor were getting into the crawl space air and facing little resistance. With the block wall of the crawl space exposed to the air and water outside, there was not much protection. To solve these problems, we installed our patented products CleanSpace and SilverGlo on the inside of the crawl space.

These products are used to protect the air from water vapor and exterior temperatures to protect the air inside the crawl space. Whenever you insulate and protect the interior of a crawl space, it is much easier to influence the humidity and general air quality of that crawl space. In controlling the interior of the crawl space, it protects the home’s wood structures and the improves the air being filtered throughout the rest of the home.

After we finished the job, the homeowners were happy with the work. They know there is still a few protective measures that can be made inside their crawl space, but this improvement was massive for the health of their home.

Waterproofing Unfinished Basement in Crumpler, NC

Slight water seepage was becoming evident on the walls of this basement. Water stains and mold growth were the major indicators that water was finding its way into the block walls. The homeowners wanted to finish their basement and not have to worry about leaks coming in behind the sheetrock walls or under the flooring. So, they hired us to install our interior waterproofing system.

We installed WaterGuard drainage, a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifying air system. This solution collects water before it gets into the basement and keeps the area and air dry. It then pumps the water outside away from the home. The SaniDry dehumidifier also does a great job at keeping the air dry and clean. Our system is also very easy to service and keep running correctly, so whenever the homeowners decide to finish their basement, they can be confident that our system will keep the water away from the inside of the home.

After the installation was over and we cleaned up, the homeowners were very happy. The job went very smoothly and set the home up for success moving forward.

Controlling Humidity and Waterproofing Basement and Crawl Space in Creston, NC

The basement and crawl space of this home was experiencing serious moisture issues. Mold growth, high humidity, and wet useless space were some of the symptoms. To get if of the leaking and heavy moisture content, the homeowners hired us.

We implemented our patented solutions in the basement and crawl space. These solutions waterproofed the perimeter completely with an interior WaterGuard drainage and TripleSafe sump pump as well as hedged against high humidity with CleanSpace vapor barrier and a SaniDry dehumidifying air system.

When the job was complete, the homeowners were thrilled to have much more usable space in their home. Because of our solutions, we were also able to protect the house from passive damage like mold and rotten wood which can happen when constant moisture is inside a home.

Leaky Basement Waterproofing in Crumpler, NC

Water seepage made it difficult for the homeowners to store items in their basement. It also created a musty smell and formed efflorescence on the block. By leaving this basement wet and useless, the water intrusion forced the homeowners to search for a solution.

We went to inspect the area and look for ways to solve their problems. The system we suggested, and the one that the homeowners ultimately went with, was our interior waterproofing drainage system. This utilizes WaterGuard that is installed under the concrete floor by the walls. The WaterGuard collects water before it gets into the basement and sends it into a sump pump. Our interior waterproofing is extremely minimal in the space it occupies and keeps basements clean and dry.

After the job was installed, the homeowners were very happy with the results. The system made it possible to utilize their basement for storage again, and it does a better job at regulating a healthy atmosphere.

Interior Waterproofing Wet Basement in Jefferson, NC

Basements used for storage such as this one find it difficult to keep items dry especially the older they get. The wooden shelves were ripe for rot and high humidity makes every indoor space feel damp and irritating. So, the homeowners started a search for a solution.

They investigated many options before deciding to go with our interior waterproofing solution. There is much discussion about interior vs exterior waterproofing out there, but our track record for keeping homes clean and dry speak for itself. So, we installed WaterGuard around the perimeter to capture intruding water and send it to our TripleSafe sump pump. This pump and operate 24/7 and sends water away from the home through a discharge line.

All of this was done to our homeowners liking and they were thrilled with how easy and simple the whole process was.

Foundation and Basement Repair in West Jefferson, NC

Janell of West Jefferson contacted Carolina Basement Systems after noticing water was getting inside of her basement from cracks along her foundation walls. When cracks appear in basement walls, it is a sign that hydrostatic pressure has jeopardized the structural integrity of the foundation. This allows water vapors in the soils to penetrate the home which can cause a variety of problems - such as mildew, mold, rotting wood, health problems, and more! Overall, these types of concerns not only put a home's structure at risk, but the health of the family living inside is at risk too. Good thing this customer called the basement professionals!

Our team of experts began tackling this job by permanently stabilizing the walls with the GeoLock Wall Anchor System. This top-of-the-line structure places steel anchors on the walls that are then attached to heavy duty anchors embedded in stable soil. This system will hold the walls in place, and overtime they can be tightened to adjust the walls back to their original position. After the walls were secure, our team went to work on protecting this area from any future water damage. A WaterGuard sub floor drainage system was installed around the perimeter of the basement. This structure is designed to capture water at the point of entry and redirect it to a sump pump. In this case, it's redirected to the UltraSump pump. This patented and high-efficiency sump pump will take any water captured in the basement and dispose of it far away from this home's structure. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was added to aid in stopping any mold growth, ridding of musty odors, and even lower electricity costs overtime.
