This basement was experiencing a lot of pressure from water build up and the contracting and expanding ground around it. Cracks were forming and the wall was bowing inward.
We waterproofed the perimeter to get rid of the water seepage and stabilized the walls with our CarbonArmor strips. These solutions are stopping further bowing and water damaged to the basement.
By being flooded after heavy rains, this home’s crawl space and basement were becoming a problem. The homeowner had issues keeping the basement dry and a large part of the problem came from his crawl space that budded against the basement. In order to resolve these problems, and being the opted for solution by the homeowner, we installed our system that entails a full encapsulation of the crawl space.
This home’s crawl space was easy to dig a trench in and determine where to put the sump pump. The location along the back wall was a great low point near an exterior wall that the water could be pumped out of. EZflow was placed around the base of the crawl space to trap water intrusion and CleanSpace vapor barrier was laid down inside the entire crawl space to keep moisture in the ground from coming up. To top off the system we installed a wall insulation that covered the old venting and insulated the crawl space air from temperature changes. This in addition to a SaniDry dehumidifier works hard at keeping the air flow inside the home under control.
At the end of the job the homeowner was happy with the results. The new space looks much nicer, can be used for storage, is now helping the home run more efficiently, and, maybe most importantly, it will keep the surrounding area dry during those heavy rains.
