Water seepage began to plague this basement in a serious way. It was impossible for the homeowners to store items or ever finish the area because of the leaks. Exterior waterproofing is costly and disruptive the area around the home, so, they sought another permanent solution.
We installed our perimeter waterproofing system inside this basement. This system captures water intrusion before it enters the basement and sends it to our patented designed sump pump. From there, water is pumped safely away from the home. The homeowners were very happy with finished work and can now utilize their basement safely.
Before our work in this crawl space, it was at major risk for mold growth and other problems. It was open to the outside air, above the ground in many spots, and the ground was exposed on the inside. These factors allowed water and moisture to get into the air very easily and raise the humidity. This high humidity is the perfect condition for mold to grow and the wetness makes it virtually impossible to have standard fiberglass insulation installed.
We inspected the crawl space and realized that the air quality could be improved dramatically and be protecting the rest of the home instead of causing it harm. So, we proposed a system that was designed to lower humidity and protect the crawl space air from water moisture.
This system that we installed had 4 parts. First, we installed thermal wall insulation onto the walls that were facing the outside, and this protects the crawl space air from rapidly changing temperatures and helps to control the environment inside. Then we laid down our drainage matting and vapor barrier along the ground. This keeps ground from being able to seep water into the crawl space physically or evaporate into the air as a gas, and the result is less humidity. The fourth and final product being installed was our SaniDry dehumidifying air system. This system is designed to keep crawl spaces at a specified relative humidity and makes it impossible for mold to grow or continue to reproduce.
