This home’s crawl space was built with minimal protection. Like a lot of crawl spaces, they are built with insulation on the top and black plastic on the ground. Unfortunately, these are temporary solutions and aren’t very efficient. The homeowner of this home was wanting to be proactive and protect his property before it became a problem, as well as clean the space out to add usable space to his house.
We cleaned out the black plastic which had started to rip, exposing the ground and not providing protection from water vapor and installed our patented CleanSpace vapor barrier. This looks much cleaner but also protects the crawl space a lot more effectively. The CleanSpace along with SilverGlo insulation on the walls insulates and protects this crawl space from moisture in the air and assists in regulating the internal temperature of the home.
In addition to having our patented products installed, this crawl space’s insulation was not showing signs of deterioration from condensation and mold, so we were able to keep it in place. Being able to do so saves it from getting ruined in the future and adds another layer of insulation to the home. Once we were finished the crawl space looked great and the homeowner was very happy.
