SmartJack: A Product Deep Dive
What is SmartJack?
SmartJacks are high-capacity and fully adjustable steel supports that are designed to permanently level the floor joists within a crawl space. They are the only floor-stabilizing solution that addresses the root cause of bouncy floors and foundation settling. The SmartJack floor system can support more than 60,000 pounds, making it a perfect solution for large homes and commercial structures. How it works:
- A two-foot cube of soil is excavated where each SmartJack will be installed.
- The hole is filled with concrete to create a stable, load bearing footing.
- A custom base is set in place and leveled at the top of the fill to hold the SmartJack in place and properly distribute the load.
- A high-strength steel column is cut to the appropriate height of the crawl space.
- All components are assembled and connected to the girder and the SmartJack system is tightened into place.
Once completed, the floor joists are immediately stabilized, and the floors and walls are lifted back to their original position.
