Supporting Our Community: Partnering with North Hills Elementary
At Carolina Basement Systems, our work goes beyond protecting homes. We believe in building stronger communities, and that means showing up for the people who make a difference every day. That’s why we’ve partnered with North Hills Elementary School to support both the staff and the students.
Why North Hills?
North Hills Elementary is more than just a school it’s a place where teachers and staff dedicate themselves to creating a safe, nurturing environment for students to learn and grow. Over the past year, their team has faced challenges and changes, and we wanted to remind them that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
Why It Matters Now
Our support for North Hills Elementary comes at a critical time. Recently, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools announced major budget cuts, including the elimination of 340 positions and the furlough of hundreds of central office staff. These reductions will save the district money but create new challenges for schools, staff, and students who are already working hard with limited resources.
On top of that, the school board has designated September 15 as a “Transition Day.” Students will stay home while staff plan and reorganize in response to the reduction in force. This will be a difficult day for many educators, which is why we’ve chosen to step in with support.
Supporting the Staff
Behind every thriving classroom is a teacher or staff member who goes above and beyond. To show our appreciation and give them a boost during such a challenging time, we’re sponsoring a staff luncheon at North Hills Elementary on September 15. This isn’t just about food it’s about encouragement, recognition, and letting the staff know their community stands with them.
One Team Effort
At CBS, we believe in living out our One Team values not only on the job but also in our community. That’s why we came together as a company to create appreciation gift bags for every teacher at North Hills Elementary. These bags, filled with small tokens of encouragement, will be delivered alongside their luncheon on Monday. It was important to us to make this a true team effort, showing that our entire company stands behind the staff who pour so much into their students.
Looking Ahead
This is just the beginning. We’re committed to continuing our support for local schools and finding new ways to uplift the communities where we live and work. Because when schools thrive, neighborhoods thrive and that’s something worth investing in.
