An Unprotected Crawl Space
The existing ground covering was loose, dirty, and did not fully seal the crawl space from the exposed earth below. Hanging insulation and debris also created an unhealthy environment vulnerable to moisture and high humidity.
Preparing the Crawl Space for Encapsulation
Our crew installed drainage matting across the crawl space floor to help direct water beneath the encapsulation system. The foundation walls and support columns were also insulated to improve energy efficiency and help control moisture.
Sealing Out Ground Moisture
A durable CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed over the crawl space floor and secured around the walls and supports. This barrier separates the home from the exposed earth, helping prevent ground moisture and humidity from entering the crawl space.
Stabilizing the Floors with SmartJacks
SmartJack support posts and a steel supplemental beam were installed beneath the floor system. This solution provides strong, adjustable support to stabilize the floor joists and help address sagging or uneven floors above.
Managing Water with a Crawl Space Sump Pump
A sump pump system was installed within the sealed crawl space to collect and remove incoming water. Working together with the CleanSpace vapor barrier, it helps keep the area dry and protected from future moisture problems.
Controlling Humidity with a SaniDry Sedona
A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to remove excess moisture from the crawl space air. It helps maintain healthier humidity levels while reducing the risk of musty odors, mold growth, and moisture-related damage.
Sealing the Crawl Space Entrance
To complete the project, our crew installed a durable new crawl space door. The secure, tightly fitted entrance helps keep outdoor air, moisture, and pests from entering the newly protected crawl space.
