Before: Crawl Space Moisture Concerns in Raleigh, NC
This Raleigh, NC crawl space had an existing ground covering, but the area was still vulnerable to ground moisture and humid outside air. Before making improvements, our team evaluated the crawl space to determine what was needed to create a cleaner, drier, and better-protected environment beneath the home.
Adding Drainage and Floor Support in Raleigh, NC
Next, our team installed drainage matting across the crawl space floor to help direct water beneath the encapsulation system. SmartJack supports were also installed beneath the floor system to provide additional support for weakened or sagging areas and help create a more stable foundation for the floors above.
Sealing Out Ground Moisture with a Vapor Barrier
With the support system in place, our team installed a vapor barrier throughout the crawl space. The barrier helps isolate the area from ground moisture, creating a cleaner and drier environment while helping protect the wooden structure above from excess moisture and humidity.
Controlling Crawl Space Humidity with SaniDry Sedona
Next, our team installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help control excess humidity in the crawl space. By keeping moisture levels in check, the system helps reduce the risk of mold growth, musty odors, and wood rot, providing ongoing protection for the newly encapsulated space.
Sealing the Crawl Space with a New Door
To complete the crawl space repair, our team installed a sealed crawl space door at the entrance. The new door helps limit outside air, humidity, and moisture from entering, allowing the moisture-control system inside to work more effectively and helping keep the crawl space protected long-term.
