Severe Water Intrusion and Mold Damage in Basement - Sanford, NC
The first photo shows the original condition of this Sanford, NC basement, where long-term water intrusion has led to dark staining along the cinderblock walls, mold growth, and deterioration of the concrete floor. Moisture has been seeping in through the wall-floor joint, leaving behind discoloration, musty odors, and a consistently damp environment. These symptoms are the early signs of foundation leakage and failing drainage around the home. This inspection photo sets the stage for a full waterproofing transformation-one that will include interior drainage, moisture control, and a reliable sump pump system to permanently address the water intrusion issues.
Trenching Begins for Interior Drainage System - Sanford, NC
After identifying the water intrusion and mold damage in the first photo, our team began the solution process by cutting a trench along the interior perimeter of the basement. This trench reveals where groundwater was consistently entering through the cinderblock wall and the wall-floor joint the main source of the staining and moisture seen earlier. This step prepares the basement for the installation of the WaterGuard interior drainage system, which will sit neatly in this trench to capture water before it can enter the living space. This photo shows the transformation underway as we move from diagnosing the symptoms to installing a permanent waterproofing solution.
WaterGuard Drainage Installed and Walls Protected with CleanSpace - Sanford, NC
Following the trenching shown in the previous photo, the next step was installing the WaterGuard interior drainage system along the basement perimeter. You can see the drainage channel now set neatly in place, ready to capture any wall seepage or groundwater before it reaches the basement floor. To address the heavy staining and moisture damage seen in Photo 1, we also installed CleanSpace Wall System along the full height of the block walls. This durable vapor barrier prevents moisture from entering the living space, redirects any seepage into the WaterGuard below, and dramatically improves the appearance of the basement.
TripleSafe Sump Pump System Installed for Complete Water Removal - Sanford, NC
After installing the WaterGuard drainage and CleanSpace wall liner, the next crucial step was adding a dependable way to remove all collected water from the home. This photo shows the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump system, set securely in place and surrounded by fresh concrete. The earlier photos showed heavy moisture intrusion and wall staining clear signs that the home needed more than surface-level repairs. The TripleSafe system provides three layers of protection, ensuring the basement stays dry even during power outages or pump failure. Once connected to the WaterGuard system, all groundwater and wall seepage are directed straight into this sump basin, where it's pumped safely out and away from the home.
TrenchDrain Installed to Capture Surface Water Around Utilities - Sanford, NC
To complete the waterproofing system shown in the previous photos, we installed a TrenchDrain around the water heater one of the most common sources of basement leaks. Earlier images showed extensive moisture intrusion and staining across the basement, indicating that both wall seepage and occasional surface water were contributing to the damage. The TrenchDrain system is designed with a grated top to catch spills, overflows, or condensation drips from mechanical equipment. All collected water is directed straight into the WaterGuard drainage system and ultimately into the TripleSafe sump pump installed earlier. This final step ties the entire waterproofing solution together protecting the home from both groundwater seepage and unexpected appliance leaks, ensuring long-term dryness and peace of mind.
