Installing the Crawl Space Drainage System
With the crawl space prepared, our team began installing an interior drainage system along the perimeter. This drainage channel is designed to capture water entering the crawl space and direct it toward the sump pump system, helping prevent standing water beneath the home.
Adding Drainage Matting for Moisture Control
Next, our team installed drainage matting across the crawl space floor. The dimpled surface creates a pathway beneath the vapor barrier, allowing any water that enters the crawl space to move toward the drainage and sump pump system instead of collecting beneath the home.
Encapsulation and Sump Pump System Installed
With the drainage system and matting in place, our team installed a durable vapor barrier across the crawl space floor and up the walls to help isolate the space from ground moisture. A sump pump system was also installed to collect water from the drainage system and pump it safely out of the crawl space, providing long-term protection against water intrusion.
Directing Water Safely Away from the Home
To complete the waterproofing system, our team installed a discharge line that carries water collected by the sump pump out of the crawl space and away from the foundation. The line terminates at an outlet in the yard, helping keep discharged water from collecting around the home and completing this Tobaccoville crawl space transformation.
