Before: Exposed Ground Leaves Crawl Space Vulnerable to Moisture
This Jamestown, NC crawl space had an old, loose ground covering that left areas of soil exposed. Without a properly sealed barrier, moisture from the ground can enter the crawl space and contribute to high humidity, musty odors, and potential wood damage. This condition showed the need for a more complete moisture-control solution.
Installing StarPipe to Manage Crawl Space Water
Next, our team installed a StarPipe drainage system along the crawl space perimeter. The system is designed to collect water entering the crawl space and direct it toward the sump pump, helping prevent standing water and keeping moisture under control.
Protecting the Crawl Space with a TripleSafe Sump Pump
With the drainage system in place, our team installed a TripleSafe sump pump system to handle water collected from the crawl space. The system helps pump incoming water out and away from the home, reducing the risk of standing water and helping keep the newly protected crawl space dry.
Sealing, Drying, and Supporting the Crawl Space
Our team installed a vapor barrier to help isolate the crawl space from ground moisture, while SmartJack supports were added to reinforce the floor system above. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was also installed to control excess humidity, helping create a drier, healthier, and more stable crawl space.
Directing Water Away with a New Drainage Line
To complete the water-management system, our team installed a drainage line outside the home. This line carries water collected by the sump pump away from the foundation, helping prevent discharged water from collecting near the home and finding its way back into the crawl space.
