Damp, Unprotected Crawl Space in Knightdale, NC
This photo captures the crawl space exactly as our team found it dark, damp, and poorly protected. The original thin plastic liner is torn, shifted, and no longer serving as a true moisture barrier. Exposed soil, open block walls, and scattered wiring created the perfect environment for humidity, musty odors, and potential mold growth to spread throughout the home. You can also see signs of water intrusion in the soil and staining along the floor, showing why the homeowner was experiencing moisture problems.
Installing a Reliable Drainage System to Stop Groundwater Intrusion
After assessing the moisture issues, our team began building the foundation of a proper waterproofing system. In this photo, you can see the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump basin being set into place. Fresh gravel is added around the liner to support drainage, while the perimeter piping carries groundwater directly into the sump system instead of allowing it to collect under the home. The discharge line is sealed and secured through the wall to keep the crawl space airtight and protected. This step is crucial by controlling groundwater before encapsulation, we ensure the homeowner has a dry, stable crawl space year-round. This installation marks the beginning of turning a damp, unprotected area into a clean, healthy environment.
CleanSpace Encapsulation Creates a Sealed, Protected Crawl Space
Once the drainage system was in place, our team moved into sealing and insulating the crawl space. This photo shows the transformation beginning to take shape with the installation of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. The thick, durable liner fully covers the ground and ties into the walls, creating a continuous seal that prevents moisture, odors, and pests from entering the space. Along the walls, you can see SilverGlo insulation panels, which reflect heat, improve energy efficiency, and help maintain a stable humidity level. Together, this system turns the crawl space into a dry, clean, and controlled environment nothing like the damp, exposed dirt we started with.
TripleSafe Sump Pump System Fully Installed and Sealed
In this stage of the project, the TripleSafe sump pump system has been fully installed and integrated into the newly encapsulated crawl space. After laying the CleanSpace vapor barrier, our team sealed the sump lid to create an airtight, odor-proof system that works seamlessly with the rest of the moisture control solution. This advanced pump setup provides three levels of protection a primary pump, a secondary backup pump, and a battery-powered pump to keep the system running during power outages. You can also see how cleanly the unit sits against the SilverGlo wall insulation and the freshly sealed liner, ensuring that any groundwater collected is efficiently removed from the crawl space. This installation is a major part of guaranteeing long-term dryness and providing the homeowner with reliable, year-round peace of mind.
SaniDry Sedona Delivers Advanced Humidity Control
To complete the crawl space transformation, our team installed the SaniDry Sedona, one of the most powerful and energy-efficient dehumidifiers designed specifically for crawl spaces. In a home that previously struggled with high humidity and musty odors, the Sedona plays a crucial role by continuously filtering and drying the air to prevent mold growth, wood rot, and moisture-related damage. Paired with the CleanSpace® vapor barrier and the TripleSafe sump pump system, the Sedona ensures that conditioned, dry air circulates evenly throughout the space. This final step creates a stable, healthy, and dry environment that protects the homeowner's foundation and improves overall indoor air quality for the long term.
