Moisture-Damaged Crawl Space Causing Insulation Failure
This crawl space showed clear signs of ongoing moisture issues, including fallen and deteriorating insulation hanging from the floor joists and debris scattered across the crawl space floor. Excess humidity and water intrusion can cause insulation to lose effectiveness, promote mold growth, and allow moisture to rise into the home above. These conditions signaled the need for a full crawl space waterproofing system to control moisture at its source and protect the home long term.
Foundation Water Tracking Identified for StarPipe Drainage Installation
This photo shows moisture staining and water tracking along the base of the crawl space foundation wall, clearly marking where groundwater was entering and spreading across the crawl space floor. Persistent water intrusion along the perimeter increases humidity levels and contributes to insulation failure and long-term foundation concerns. To address this issue, our team installed a StarPipe interior drainage system designed to capture groundwater at the foundation wall and redirect it efficiently to the sump pump system for safe removal from the crawl space.
StarPipe Drainage System Safely Discharging Water Away from the Home
After identifying water intrusion along the crawl space foundation, our team extended the StarPipe interior drainage system to the exterior of the home. This photo shows the discharge line directing collected groundwater away from the foundation and into a dedicated drainage outlet, preventing water from pooling near the home. By safely moving water away from the structure, this system reduces hydrostatic pressure on the foundation and helps keep the crawl space dry year-round.
Sump Pump System with Battery Backup Providing Reliable Crawl Space Protection
To complete the crawl space waterproofing system, a sump pump with battery backup was installed to collect and remove water captured by the StarPipe drainage system. This setup ensures water is actively pumped out of the crawl space, even during heavy rainfall or power outages. By managing groundwater at the lowest point of the crawl space, this system helps prevent standing water, reduces humidity, and protects the foundation from long-term moisture damage, giving the homeowner reliable, year-round peace of mind.
