This homeowner in Advance, NC began noticing signs of foundation settlement around their entryway slab, including uneven concrete, separation near the doorway, and soil erosion along the foundation. These symptoms often point to unstable or shifting soil beneath the slab, which can cause sections of the home’s exterior to sink over time.
To provide a permanent solution, our team installed helical piers beneath the affected area. These steel piers are driven deep into stable, load-bearing soil to bypass weak surface layers responsible for the settlement. By transferring the weight of the structure to more reliable ground, the piers help stabilize the slab and prevent further movement.
Once installation was complete, the area was backfilled and restored, leaving a clean, seamless finish. With helical piers in place, this entryway is now supported by a strong, long-lasting foundation giving the homeowner peace of mind and protection against future settlement.
This home owner was having to sqeegee off his back porch after every rain because the dip in the concrete allowed for standing water. Luckily we got a crew out to him and leveled the slab with poly while still maintaining enough slope to run water away from the base of his home.
The ground that settled underneath this concrete walkway was causing shifting and made it uneven. We fixed these trip hazards with our PolyLevel foam and NexusPro sealant that leveled the concrete slabs and sealed the cracks.
Water leaks plagued this basement. The before photo demonstrates how our waterproofing looks during installation and makes it easy to visualize how water will flow into the sump pump. Once it’s finished the floor is flush and ready to stay dry.
