A homeowner in Winston Salem, NC wanted to prevent nasty crawl space issues such as water damage, mold growth, musty odors, sagging floors, and attracting rodents. So, he contacted the local experts at Carolina Basement Systems for some preventative work to protect his exposed crawl space. Our hardworking crew installed a CleanSpace encapsulation system complete with SilverGlo insulation, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier and air purifier, an UltraSump pump, EverLast door, and a few other of our top-quality products to ensure a dry healthy crawl space for many years to come.
Our team stabilized a customer's cracked and bowing foundation wall in their garage using our PowerBrace System. The PowerBrace System is a foundation repair solution designed to stabilize and potentially straighten foundation walls that are experiencing inward movement. It consists of steel I-beams that are anchored to the floor joists above the wall and the floor below. The beams are then tightened to exert pressure against the wall, counteracting the forces causing the wall to bow. This system not only halts further movement but can also gradually improve the wall's condition over time.
In this Greensboro, NC crawl space, the homeowner was facing multiple warning signs of foundation and moisture issues. The original space had sagging insulation, exposed dirt floors, and rotting support beams, which led to uneven, bouncy floors and poor indoor air quality. These symptoms are common when moisture and weak supports compromise the integrity of a home’s foundation.
Our team addressed these issues by installing the SmartJack Support System to provide reliable stabilization and lift for sagging joists. In addition, we encapsulated the crawl space with a CleanSpace vapor barrier, sealing out excess humidity and preventing further mold and rot damage.
Now, this crawl space is clean, stable, and fully protected giving the homeowner peace of mind knowing their foundation is strong and their living environment healthier.
Sometimes, burying a downspout and piping it to a needed location requires going under existing parts of the landscape. We routed this downspout correctly and re-poured the concrete that had to be removed.
Installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of this basement to collect the water intrusion went perfectly and left the basement in good shape to be finished.
