The Cleanspace Vapor Barrier System will help a customer in Millers Creek, NC with their clay exposed crawl space by providing a durable, moisture-resistant barrier that prevents water vapor from penetrating the crawl space. This system helps to reduce humidity levels, prevent mold growth, and protect the structural integrity of the home. Additionally, it improves indoor air quality and energy efficiency by keeping the crawl space dry and insulated.
A thin plastic vapor barrier was laid in the crawl space when it was constructed and has since ripped and become useless. We stopped the water vapor from affecting the crawl space by sealing it with our CleanSpace vapor barrier.
To help protect this crawl space, we installed our thermal wall insulation along the walls. This keeps the entire home's temperature consistent through the seasons, and there is no risk of ruined or ripped insulation over time.
Using our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, we sealed this customers crawl space to prevent moisture from seeping through and to prevent mold growth.
Moisture in a crawl space can cause significant damage to floor joists over time. When moisture is present, it creates the perfect environment for mold, mildew, and wood rot to develop. These issues weaken the structural integrity of the joists, leading to sagging, warping, or even collapse.
To repair the damage, our team will first address the source of the moisture to prevent future issues. This may involve installing a vapor barrier, improving ventilation, or fixing any leaks. Once the moisture issue is resolved, we will assess the extent of the damage to the joists. Depending on the severity, we may sister new joists alongside the damaged ones, replace sections of the joists, or use structural supports to reinforce them. Our goal is to restore the stability and safety of the flooring system while preventing further damage.
